Northern Illinois REA (NIREA) Membership & Goals

What is Northern Illinois REA (NIREA)? NIREA is a real estate investor’s association affiliated with the National Real Estate Investment Association and formerly known as NICREI. We provide educational and networking resources for experienced real estate investors, those who want to be investors, and anyone who provides valuable goods or services to our members. We are committed to promoting a sound understanding of real estate investing principles and to helping further develop the investing abilities of our members.

Who should join NIREA? Any Illinois, Wisconsin investor, from the beginner to the seasoned expert should join NIREA for the opportunity to network with others who can bring valuable insights, information and resources to his or her investing business. Real estate investment experts across the country agree that one of the most valuable steps you can take as an investor is to join your local Real Estate Investment Association. It just makes sense to meet and network with other real estate entrepreneurs who can help you build your business.

What will I learn as a member of NIREA? Successful investors are always learning and staying on top of the latest and best investing strategies and the key legal and tax information and changes that have a powerful effect on real estate investing. NIREA presentations and meetings aim to cover all aspects of real estate investing including but not limited to: lease options, foreclosures, paper/notes, rehab, subject to, property management techniques, title insurance, VA/HUD government programs, government auctions, real estate inspection and property assessment techniques, mortgage shopping techniques, 1031 tax deferred exchanges, financing resources, insurance, and much, much more.

What are the goals of NIREA? NIREA will strive to motivate and support our members and guests through education, discussion and networking. We will meet these goals by:
Presenting one or more well-informed speaker(s) at our monthly meetings and  workshops.
Providing excellent networking and learning opportunities throughout the year.
Connecting Illinois & Wisconsin investors to national speakers, trends, information and special benefits through our affiliation with the National Real Estate Investors Association (REIA).
Providing investors with exclusive space on our website to promote buying and selling opportunities, post questions, and connect with one another.
Provide a relaxing atmosphere for meetings, coffee, snack, and door prize.

Northern Illinois REA Investors Group (NIREA)

The Northern Illinois REA Group, hereinafter referred to as NIREA, is a for profit organization. Members of NIREA treat this organization with the utmost professionalism.

The NIREA member is civic-minded and operates according to the highest ethical standards. The NIREA member should recognize that the interests of the community require the highest and best use of the land and its buildings. The NIREA member recognizes the need for adequate housing and the preservation of a healthful environment. The members of NIREA share a common responsibility to maintain and improve housing. The letters NIREA will be synonymous with competency, fairness, and integrity, and honor.

By accepting these standards, every NIREA member pledges to conduct his business in accordance to the articles set below:

I. The NIREA member shall provide only safe and sanitary housing, if any shall be provided at all.
II.The NIREA member should keep themselves informed on matters affecting housing in their community.
III. The NIREA member shall keep themselves informed regarding local, state, and federal laws affecting their business and their community.
IV. The NIREA member will not discriminate against any person for reasons of race, age, religion, creed, sex, country of national origin, children, marital status, or disability.
V. The NIREA member will recognize that property residents and buyers are our customers and we are in a service industry and a “people” industry.
VI. The NIREA member has an obligation to help another member whenever possible.  The surest way to get what you want is to help other people get what they want.
VII.The NIREA member understands and agrees the truth that there are plenty of “good deals” out there for everyone and that we will truly accomplish a greater level of success through the benefits of our relationships together than we otherwise would without those relationships.
VIII.The NIREA member will not engage in any illegal practices and will always conduct themselves in a professional manner.
IX.The NIREA member will not cheat, wrong, or defraud any other member, owner, resident or NIREA itself.
X.The NIREA member will be aware of the needs and concerns of our community and as a property owner and/or property dealer, will make every effort to respond to those needs and concerns.
